Meet the latest addition to the Hornets' Nest Hornet #8. Bought it for $15 and change USD ($20 CAD). no box but I don't care. Wanted to get the BBI 1/18 Hornet but I have to learn that is just too rich for my blood.
Anyways, Top Hatters F/A-18E Super Bug. I have to say I prefer WW's panel lines to HM's, on the HM they are like canyons. The WW also seems to have more protrusions (pitot tubes, antennas etc)
Ahhhhhhhh perfect!!! Glad you got it buddy, knew you wouldn't be disappointed
Sounds like you are on the same train of thought as me, coz i genuinely still like the Witty's more. If/when JC bring out some better schemes with that mold, i wont hesitate in adding them to the cabinet.
Its like you knew what i was gonna say Dak..... : P
i realy liked the looks of Witty Super Hornets.... i got 4 of them proudly lined up in my mancave...its simply a good looking model to me....
Agreed. Fortunately they did a much better job with the Supes than the Legacies. And I preferred their more subdued panel line approach to the others’ trenches.
I guess my only real complaint about Witty was that their paint finish always seemed to possibly be just a bit on the thick side. (perhaps that’s what was filling in the panel lines )
to be honest, ive seen so many aircrafts in real...military/commercial...in the flesh.....you hardly see the panel line that you see in most so called high end brands...with a thick layer of paint, you hardly see the so called panel lines in real aircraft.... ....the surface of any given aircraft should be as smooth as possible...and not with that deep line panels which looks exaggerated.....as done in some model
