The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is such an iconic aircraft and it brings back a lot of memory that I had to have it in my collection. I'm pretty sure a lot of pilots out there got their first taste of the skies with this plane. First flown in 1955 and once again in production, over 43,000 Cessna 172s have been built, more than any other aircraft.
This is the first of GeminiJets's new line of General Aviation. I say this is quite successful - being such an iconic aircraft, I'm sure a lot of collectors has some sentimental value towards this aircraft, which would explain why it's flying off the shelves. A lot of retailers are now showing out of stock. It's well constructed, it's made of diecast (weighing in at 2.8 oz), and it has great detail. Here's to hoping we see more in the General Aviation line.
Here's a size comparison with a HM F-16 in the same scale (anyone see the movie Iron Eagle :envy:)
Yea the stock stand doesn't look that great, but Gemini does offer the wooden stand you can purchase separate that will still fit. It's labeled as a 1:400 stand but I got mine from one of Gemni's 1/200 model - the KC-135. Look for item: GJSTD1013
